Lineage [*]

from by Only Destiny

This is an obvious one. After writing the music for what would become "Epilogue" I noticed that the chord progression I used occurred in songs by three artists that, coincidentally, I consider huge influences on what I'm trying to achieve with Only Destiny: Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan/Tubeway Army and Strike Anywhere. I thought it would be a fun exercise in vocal arrangement, harmony and humility to record verses from all three songs on top of one another. Here is a small cross-section of my musical lineage

Blank eyes tired of waiting
Outside; here I am
Blank eyes tired of waiting, tired of wasting it all away
Outside; here I am

Down in the park where the Machmen meet the machines and play "Kill-By-Numbers"
Down in the park with a friend called Five
I was in a car crash - or was it the war? - but I've never been quite the same
Little white lies like "I was there"

You could have it all, my empire of dirt
I will let you down
If I could start again, a million miles way
I would keep myself
